About the submissions:

Who can participate?

This project is open to staff, students and members of the wider community of the University of York.

What can be submitted?

Submissions may include but are not limited to:

  • ✍️ poetry,

  • 📷 photo essay,

  • 🎨 drawing and painting,

  • 🧶 crafts,

  • 🎶 music performance, and

  • 🎥 documentary films.

They must have been created since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

How many entries can be submitted?

A maximum of 3 submissions per person can be submitted.

What are the ideal minimum requirements for submitted files?

🖼️ Photos/graphics: jpg, 300 dpi and a minimum file size of 2mb

📹 Video: .mp4 or .mov with a minimum quality of standard HD at a resolution of 1280x720

🎧 Audio: AAC with a bitrate of 128kbps and frequency of 48000 Hz

If in doubt or if you are unable to use one of the listed formats, please use the highest quality setting on your device when capturing or saving imagery, video or audio.

How will the submission be used?

The project working group will make decisions on how the work will be used but it may be used in some of the following ways:

  • online exhibitions.

  • exhibitions on or off campus.

  • research purposes.

  • university historical archives.

  • for promotion of the project or exhibitions.

Contact Details

We may need to contact you via email in connection with the exhibition. It is therefore important that when you submit your work, you give a valid email address that you check regularly (including junk mail folders). Please note it is your responsibility to provide a correct email address. If we are unable to contact you, we may not be able to use/display your work.

Closing Date

The closing date for submission is: 30 November 2021.
